Opening hours Monday - Sunday: 8 AM to midnight Kitchen daily open until 10 PM. Sunday kitchen open till 9 PM.

Our chef Rafael Surie is ready in the kitchen every day to prepare unique creations of Dutch origin and high quality. Together with the team, he provides the dishes with the freshest ingredients from our own Vertical Farm. This is our greenhouse on the 1st floor of Hotel Haarhuis in Arnhem. Here we proudly grow our own sprouts and herbs. Come along and experience the unique taste!
All dishes on LOCALS Arnhem's menu are created in collaboration with the Netherlands' leading vegetable chef, Niven Kunz. Niven is a Dutch chef who was awarded a Michelin star for his work as a chef at two different restaurants and now has his own restaurant called Triptyque. Niven stands for the 80/20 principle (vegetables vs meat/fish). For him, this philosophy is clear: in his kitchen, vegetables always come first. His passion and knowledge about vegetables have flowed into our restaurant LOCALS and you can taste this in our tasty dishes.
Restaurant LOCALS grows its own vegetables and herbs in a Vertical Farm. This greenhouse was built in collaboration with Vegger realised on the 1st floor of the hotel.
Vertical Farming is growing food in stacked growing layers, in a fully controlled environment. Energy, light and water are controlled to grow as efficiently and sustainably as possible, without outside influences. The crops grow entirely on water, using no soil. In our greenhouse, you will find vegetables and herbs such as different varieties of basil, lettuces, coriander, oregano, endive and beetroot sprouts, among others. A unique way of growing vegetables and herbs in Arnhem! Hotel Haarhuis is the first hotel in the Netherlands with its own Vertical Farm.
