“Due to the increasing number of requests for private events and our desire to fully focus on this market, we have decided to open BLOU exclusively for private events over the coming months,” says Wouter Dekker, General Manager of Hotel Haarhuis. This means that Rooftop Bar BLOU will not be accessible to hotel guests or the general public during this period, with the exception of a number of special events that will be announced through our social media channels.
The First ‘I Do’ at BLOU “Last Friday, the very first wedding ceremony was held at BLOU. We already knew we were an excellent venue for wedding celebrations, but becoming the place where couples actually say ‘I do’ to one another is something entirely new,” says Dekker. This trend reflects what the team at Hotel Haarhuis has increasingly noticed: people are looking for tailor-made and unique private events. Getting married above Arnhem, with panoramic views of the city, certainly fits that demand. “It was an amazing celebration, made even more special because our guests did not know we were getting married,” said the newlywed couple. The team at Hotel Haarhuis is incredibly proud to be able to offer the rooftop bar for such special occasions.
All-Season Terrace BLOU has undergone a significant transformation, evolving from an open rooftop terrace into a true all-season venue. To ensure guests can enjoy the space throughout the year, glass walls have been installed along the sides of the terrace. This allows visitors to continue enjoying the spectacular views while remaining sheltered from the wind. In addition, heaters have been installed to keep every part of the terrace comfortably warm, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. This makes BLOU an ideal location for private events, even during the autumn and winter months. “Of course, we have not forgotten our loyal visitors. We still have a number of exciting events in mind for them, including New Year’s Eve celebrations, and we will share more details soon,” says Dekker.
